Under what circumstances will the liquefied gas tank explode

Liquefied gas tank:

The main components of liquefied petroleum gas are propane, propylene, butane, butene. They have high combustion value, heavier than air, and strong volatility. Once they leak, they may cause combustion and explosion.

(1), the cylinder is overfilled. Overloading can cause the cylinder to explode, which is determined by the special nature of LPG. Because LPG has great "expansibility", when the temperature is 15 degrees, the volume expansion coefficient is about 16 times that of water. After being filled into steel cylinders, the liquefied petroleum gas is mainly in a liquid state, and its saturated vapor pressure does not rise rapidly with the temperature. As long as the liquid state increases by about 4 degrees, it may explode due to the expansion effect of the liquefied petroleum gas.

(2), the cylinder is burning upside down. This kind of phenomenon is mainly caused by the fact that when users find that the corner valve is on fire, they are afraid that the fire will burn the house. They often take correct "decisive measures". After the pipe is broken, the cylinder is dragged outside the house with a bamboo pole and hook and allowed to burn. At this moment, if the cylinder is standing, it will not explode, because the flame is sprayed outwards, and the cylinder is affected little by heat radiation; if it is lying on a floor with “heat storage” such as cement, asphalt, slate, etc., it will burn approximately After 4 minutes, it may explode. Because the cylinder is cylindrical, the pressure regulator will be heavier, causing the air outlet to burn towards the ground. After the cylinder is locally heated by the anti-burning flame, the liquefied gas expands rapidly and the pressure rises sharply; at the same time, the pressure regulator is After the fire burns, the pressure regulating effect will be lost. However, the diameter of its air inlet is very small, which prevents the pressure inside the cylinder from leaking out, so an explosion occurs.

(3). Working with steel cylinders. Cylinders are pressure vessels and must be worked under the condition of "sturdy physique and no faults". If it is used for a long time without inspection, maintenance and repair, corrosion perforations and cracks will appear in the welded seam of the steel cylinder, which will cause the loss of compressive strength, and it will easily explode when exposed to high temperature, extrusion or collision. In addition, some users use methods such as hot water pouring and burning steel cylinders, thinking that they can promote the burning of liquefied gas. In fact, this is also very dangerous! In particular, burning a steel cylinder will cause the steel cylinder to lose its due strength, and it is easy to cause the cylinder to explode.

When replacing the liquefied gas cylinders, first check whether the pressure reducing valve sealing rubber gasket is intact, then connect the pressure reducing valve, and check whether the rubber hose is aging, then connect the stove and open the cylinder angle valve.
